ICGEB Alumni Meeting 2025

The 2nd ICGEB International Alumni Meeting, jointly hosted by the three ICGEB Components (New Delhi, Trieste, and Cape Town), will be held in the Area Science Park, Trieste, Italy.

• The meeting will further establish the ICGEB alumni network as an institutional resource
• Showcase the quality and global reach of the ICGEB alumni network, and
• Provide an opportunity for alumni to interact with the current ICGEB student body.

The meeting will allow us to recognise our alumni who have been successful in their careers and will provide an opportunity to meet with their former mentors. It will further highlight the achievements of ICGEB alumni and represent their contributions to science and society. It will also provide a platform for our current and past students and staff to interact.

The Alumni Meeting will also incorporate the traditional ICGEB annual Symposium. The joint nature of the event will bring the ICGEB Trieste scientific community and the ICGEB Alumni body closer and allow for potentially significant interconnections.

There will be poster presentations by current ICGEB Trieste PhD and Postdoc students, and brainstorming sessions dedicated to discussing ways to strengthen the connection between annual cohorts keeping this network thriving and shaping future alumni meetings.

Over 100 participants from ICGEB Host and Member States are expected. Approximately twenty guest speakers from the three components will present their current work and recount their experience at ICGEB as students. Additionally, guest speakers from ICGEB will discuss alternate career options. 

Sessions will be held for current students and the recipients of WE-STAR Fellowships to interact with ICGEB alumni.

ICGEB is consolidating actions for Alumni meetings to champion the exchange of ideas on science, and contribute towards further development of the Organisation.

This meeting will bring together prominent alumni to consolidate ICGEB’s International Network of Enterprise Specialists.
