A bridge between science, innovation, and the global community. From 11 to 13 June 2025, the Area Science Park of Trieste hosted the 2nd edition of the ICGEB Alumni Meeting, an international event that brought together 190 participants from 40 countries.
Jointly organised by the three ICGEB Components (Trieste, New Delhi, and Cape Town), the meeting celebrates the value of ICGEB’s global network of researchers and their impact on science and society. “Our alumni are the measure of our success,” says ICGEB Director-General Lawrence Banks. “Having them with us, from all over the world, is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate their achievements and the contribution they make to scientific progress and the well-being of humanity.”
Scientific Organisers Prof. Serena Zacchigna and Dr. Marco Baralle, ICGEB Trieste, say: “The meeting represents a unique opportunity to strengthen ties between our alumni around the world and current students, promoting the exchange of ideas, experiences and opportunities for collaboration.”
The next ICGEB Alumni Meeting will be held in November 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.
