ICGEB continues to enrich its offering for public engagement as it prepares for European Researchers’ Night and participates in national science festivals.
Following its annual participation in National Science Week, South Africa, in July, ICGEB takes part in SHARPER during European Researchers’ Night in September.
Similarly, at the festival of scientific research, Trieste Next, held in September, ICGEB hosts a stand in the Trieste Village (Piazza Unità d’Italia) and public conferences in English and Italian for the duration of the Festival. Our offering includes:
Journey into the human brain: introducing a 3-D Virtual Reality (VR) immersion inside the human body. Through this prototype for a project entitled “Fascinating Journey Inside the Human Cell“, this experience takes you on a 3-D exploration of the human brain and the areas that are affected by neurological diseases.
Foldscope the paper microscope to observe cells and microorganisms, learn more about the microscopic world that we cannot see with the naked eye.
Discussion Game learn about current issues (smoking, alcohol, HPV, genetics, sports and nutrition) related to health in an active learning process engaging with our scientists and PhD students (also in English on request, min. 5 people)
