Dr. Dinakar M Salunke, is currently the Director of the ICGEB, New Delhi Component. Prior to joining ICGEB, New Delhi, he was the Founder Director of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology, an institution established by the Govt. of India under the auspices of UNESCO. Earlier, he had led a vibrant structural biology group at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, for about 25 years.
Dr. Salunke’s discovery of new ways of generating antibody diversity, analysis of how the immune system deals with the antigens that keep changing shape and the structural exemplification of antigen mimicry, have provided elucidations of the ways immune system deals with foreign invasion.
