The project received around EUR 111K funding in the collaboration with Alifax Research and Laboratori Riuniti Trieste.
The project aims at developing an innovative therapeutic approach for the therapy of critical wounds, based on the expansion of autologous human endothelial cells in a bioreactor. In particular, the project wishes to demonstrate that these cells, in combination with various scaffolds, promote the re-vascularization and healing of skin wounds in a pre-clinical model of peripheral ischemia.
