Introducing Nature Cardiovascular Research
Host: L. Banks
Nature Cardiovascular Research (NCVR) is a new research journal in the Nature Portfolio dedicated to publishing original and important advances in cardiac, vascular and blood biology, covering fundamental, translational and clinical research. The journal has started accepting submissions in April 2021 and will launch in January 2022. It aims to expand our understanding of all aspects of cardiovascular system and haematology during development and in health and disease, and translation of this knowledge into clinics to advance diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Our broad scope bridges the gap between basic and clinical research and includes the societal impact of cardiovascular and blood disease, and ensures that work published reaches the widest possible audience and educates both scientists and clinicians. Like the other Nature titles, Nature Cardiovascular Research has no external editorial board. Instead, all editorial decisions are made by a dedicated team of full-time professional editors. I will 1) introduce the new journal and the editorial team and 2) discuss the editorial process upon article’s submission in Nature journals.
