Disease mechanisms of TDP-43 associated ALS-FTD

(Host: E. Buratti)

Philip Van Damme is a neurologist at the University Hospital Leuven. He is currently directing the Neuromuscular Reference Center and coordinating the care of ALS and ALS-FTD patients. His research activities focus on translational ALS-FTD research including more basic biological studies to understand the disease pathogenesis in various model systems (performed at the Center for Brain & Disease Research, VIB, Leuven), clinical studies on the genetic causes and biomarkers of the disease, and clinical trials with novel treatments for ALS.
