JUMBO! Ambra Sarracino PhD graduates from the Joint PhD Programme run in Trieste

The Joint PhD Programme in Molecular Biology (JUMBO) is run through a collaboration between ICGEB, SISSA, the University of Trieste and the University of Udine.

Congratulations to Ambra Sarracino, who is the latest ICGEB Ph.D student to complete her studies. Ambra is the first student to graduate from the Joint Ph.D Programme in Molecular Biology (JUMBO), which is run through a collaboration between ICGEB, SISSA, the University of Trieste and the University of Udine.

JUMBO provides students with a top-class research training in molecular biology with the research being performed in some of the premier research laboratories in Italy. Ambra’s studies on HIV-1, the causative agent of AIDS, have provided important insights into how the virus can remain latent, and offers new potential routes for therapeutic intervention. The examination panel were extremely enthusiastic about her work and awarded the Ph.D degree cum laude. We wish Ambra every success in her future career.
