Tuesday, 11 February 2025 is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. We celebrate our work for capacity building and training of young scientists across the globe.
Recently, a training course aimed at academics, technicians, engineers and managers based at the EDCTP Regional Networks of Excellence (CANTAM, WANETAM, EACCR and TESA) with a background in life sciences and limited experience in bioprocessing was held at ICGEB Trieste, Italy.
Of the selected participants from 4 regions (and 10 countries) in Africa, 70% were women.
ICGEB’s programmes aim to develop and strengthen skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources needed to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world.
Our training helps meet the needs of women in science, providing expertise and enhanced human capital. In the long-term, training increases biotechnology know-how and technical capacity with a positive impact on local industries and health care systems.
