This intensive 4-day applied training course is designed to build sustainable molecular virology capacity. The course provides a complete, hands-on journey from patient sample to public health result, focusing on high-burden viruses in the region: HPV and HIV.

Topics

Module 1: Sample Processing & Nucleic Acid Extraction; Principles of Molecular Diagnostics & Sample; Management: Overview of core.

Participants

This course is designed for mid-career laboratory scientists and molecular diagnostics specialists working in reference or high-throughput laboratories who routinely perform virology assays. It is a small, high-impact workshop for professionals seeking to refine molecular workflows, strengthen assay validation, and improve translation of virology data into clinical and public health practice.

Funding

Course Registration Waivers will be offered on a case-by-case basis. In most years most participants received waivers as they could not afford the fees.
