ETS transcription factors as master regulators of endothelial homeostasis

Host: S. Zacchigna

Disruption of endothelial homeostasis in leads to profound changes in endothelial cells (EC) gene expression and function. Little is known about the transcriptional and epigenomic regulation of endothelial homeostasis and its links to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This talk will focus the ETS transcription factor ERG, a master regulator of EC homeostasis, and its role in maintaining homeostasis in multiple organs. It will also present recently data which identifies ERG and its close homologue FLI1 as the two essential transcription factors controlling vascular integrity (Gomez-Salinero, Nature Cardiovascular Research 2022; vol1; p882). Finally some unpublished data on the mechanisms of organotypic regulation.
