Immunomodulatory functions of tumor-associated lymphatic vessels

(Host: F. Benvenuti)

While tumor-associated lymphatic vessels promote cancer cell spreading and metastasis, they are essential for the initiation of anti-tumor immunity. In addition, they express and produce molecules shaping anti-tumor immune cell phenotype and functions. Our research aims at elucidating lymphatic endothelial cell immunomodulatory functions in the tumor microenvironment, in order to target the lymphatic vasculature to improve anti-tumor immunity and response to immunotherapies.
