The “miRAlveRgen” project has been funded under the “BOOSTER FOR LIFE SCIENCE FVG – TRL ADVANCEMENT. Support for validation projects of innovative ideas and technologies that foresee the achievement of a TRL 6,7 or 8”.
The project aims to validate innovative ideas and technologies aimed at reaching Technology Readiness Level TRL 6, 7, or 8, whose prototype is demonstrated in a relevant or industrial environment.
This project builds upon recent identified novel druggable targets for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). These targets have been extensively validated in relevant preclinical models.
Through miRAlveRgen new avenues for the design of targeted delivery systems based on lipid nanoparticles, with the goal of developing advanced therapies for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a rare and highly debilitating respiratory disease for which no effective treatments exist to promote regeneration of damaged lung tissue.
This project is headed by Dr. Luca Braga and the Functional Cell Biology laboratory at ICGEB Trieste.
