This course will cover topics on genome editing, using the novel CRISPR/Cas9 tool, and to use Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs) to efficiently manage and preserve mouse strains. The course will feature both lectures and hands-on practical sessions. We expect, from the knowledge acquired, to build regional capacities and a network to stimulating collaborations and other scientific/academic activities for Latin America and the rest of the world countries.
Topics
Basic Principles of Genome Editing Technologies: CRISPR/Cas9; Cryopreservation; Model design and genetic analysis.
Participants
Researchers working in the topic of genome editing and ART technologies. Technicians and postgraduate students are highly encouraged to participate. Six students from the region and the world will be selected for the practical sessions.
Funding
Participants are expected to cover their travel costs. A limited number of grants covering course fee and accommodation will be provided for selected technicians and students who are nationals of ICGEB Member States residing outside of Cuba.
