The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. This Symposium aims building capacity in the bioinformatics field, increase bioinformatics research awareness and to create networks within the scientific community for advancing bioinformatics research and application. To this end, the programme shall include key note speeches, lectures, discussions and presentations of abstracts/ posters. 


Design and implementation of a sequence retrieval of bacterial gene,  TAGOPSIN – organism centred data retrieval and integration software,  Bioinformatics in drug discovery Chemogenomics – facilitating drug discovery and development.  Metagonomics. Pharmacogenomics, Proteomics, Phylogenetics


Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, Researchers, Media and Parliamentarians


Participants will cater for their travel and living costs. Limited funding covering accommodation, travel and meals will be available for presenters from ICGEB member states. Limited funding will be availed to invited expert presenters. Junior students will have a subsided registration fee
