ICGEB & The Future of Science “Third bioinformatics research symposium”

The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. This ICGEB & The Future of Science Symposium aims to build capacity in the bioinformatics field, increase bioinformatics research awareness and to create networks within the scientific community for advancing bioinformatics research and application. To this end, the programme shall include key note speeches, lectures, discussions and presentations of abstracts/ posters. 

Topics

Design and implementation of a sequence retrieval of bacterial gene,  TAGOPSIN – organism centred data retrieval and integration software,  Bioinformatics in drug discovery Chemogenomics – facilitating drug discovery and development,  Metagonomics, Pharmacogenomics, Proteomics, Phylogenetics.

Participants

Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, Researchers, Media and Parliamentarians.

Funding

Participants will cater for their travel and living costs. Limited funding covering accommodation, travel and meals will be available for presenters who are nationals of ICGEB Member States. Limited funding will be availed to invited expert presenters. Local junior students will have a subsided registration fee.
