The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. This Workshop is open to worldwide participants to present and promote the research activities in plant drug biosynthesis. It aims to provide a stimulating platform to all the students, postdoctoral fellows and scientists to demonstrate their research skills, activities and/or innovative concepts through talks or poster presentation, besides providing an opportunity to interact with national and international eminent scientists.

Topics

Metabolic engineering to synthetic biology and drugs biosynthesis. Biosynthetic pathways and mechanistic process. Metabolically engineered products in the marketplace. Health-related targets, societal impact, and biosafety. Panel discussion, funding, future prospects and concluding remarks.

Participants

Admittance to the Workshop is subject to selection by the organising committee. Preference will be given to young researchers and budding scientists. Participation from ICGEB Member States and good gender balance will be ensured. For non-ICGEB Member State nationals a registration fee of Euro 150 may be charged. A registration fee of Euro 50 may be charged to non-ICGEB Indian participants.

Funding

A limited number of grants covering accommodation (twin shared) and local hospitality for the duration of the course will be available for a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States. Participants recipients of an ICGEB grant will be automatically waived of the registration fees.
