The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. The meeting will congregate scientists working in the fields of photobiology and stress biology for deliberations on the molecular strategies for enhancing yields in present era of climate change with an emphasis on the role of miRNAs. It will also provide opportunities for junior scientists and graduate students to present their work and exchange ideas with leaders in the field.

Participants

Leading scientists in the field of plant biology. Young investigators and students working in the area of plant biology.
Admittance to the Workshop is subject to selection by the organising committee and payment of a registration fee. Participants are also expected to cover their own costs. Applications may be accompanied by an abstract consisting of not more than 350 words, preferably related to the title of the conference. The abstract should include the background of the research work, objectives, methodologies, key findings and a conclusion.

Registration

The registration includes costs for course material; Lunch, dinner and coffee breaks
– Students/Postdocs (foreign nationals): USD 60 (no accommodation*)
– Students/Postdocs (Indian nationals): Rs 5000 (no accommodation)
* Assistance for arranging local accommodation may be provided on request

Funding

A limited number of grants covering accommodation (twin shared) and meals as foreseen in the programme will be available for a selected number of registered students/junior scientists who nationals of ICGEB Member States. In special cases amount equivalent to registration fee (taxes not included) will be reimbursed to the candidates selected for the grant.

Selection criteria

A local selection committee, consisting of the organiser and other scientists, will evaluate the applications that are received on or before the deadline.
