Why become a Member
The ICGEB is an international Organisation within the United Nations System with over 60 Member States. It has a dual mandate: excellence in scientific research and training, and technology transfer to industry in the field of biotechnology for sustainable global development. It is unique among all international organisations in pursuing these goals through advanced research in its own state-of-the-art laboratories and institutional activities such as capacity building, organisation of events, networking among institutes as well as promoting excellence in science via a research grant programme in ICGEB Member States. ICGEB has three research components located in Trieste, Italy, where the Headquarters are also placed, New Delhi, India and Cape Town, South Africa.
