The first full-genome sequences from Iraq have been uploaded on GISAID, thanks to a collaboration with the Molecular Virology Laboratory, ICGEB Trieste. These are also published on nexstrain.org, which incorporates the national data on the global map – that is also broadly announced on their Twitter account, with a following of almost 40,000.
ICGEB Covid-19/SARS-CoV-2 Resource page. The Journal of Virology has published the FVG Region laboratory Group study on Covid-19 isolation and full-length genome characterizations of SARS-CoV-2 from COVID-19 cases in Northern Italy. The ICGEB in Trieste is offering positive control RNA, and information for isolating and working with the virus, and for sequencing for subsequent surveillance purposes, as well as direct technical assistance with online video tutorials on the isolation and detection of Sars-CoV-2 RNA.
