This course will provide comprehensive training on transgene-free genome editing tools for strategic crops, addressing key challenges in food security and climate change. It empowers researchers with innovative gene editing tools and promotes regional collaboration.
Topics
Principles of Gene Editing; Gene Editing Bioinformatics Approaches; Delivery Methods: Protoplast Transformation using Ribonucleoproteins (RNPs); Mutation Analysis through High-Throughput Sequencing (HTS).
Participants
The course targets researchers, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in fields related to plant biotechnology. Applicants must submit a 300 words structured abstract (Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions) and a motivation letter. Priority will be given to geographical, gender, and career-stage diversity.
Funding
A limited number of grants will be awarded to selected students or early-career researchers (under 35 years old) who are nationals of ICGEB Member States residing outside of Peru. Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic background and submit a scientific abstract and motivation letter. Selection will consider the quality of the submissions, geographical and gender balance, and registration order.
