ICGEB is delighted to announce that on 15 March 2023, the Government of the Dominican Republic acceded to the ICGEB Statutes.
The Government of the Dominican Republic deposited its instrument of accession with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in March 2023. The Statutes will enter into force for the Dominican Republic on 14 April 2023 in accordance with article 21 (2), when it will become the 67th Member State of the ICGEB.
The accession will be formally announced at the forthcoming session of the ICGEB Board of Governors in May 2023. The Dominican Republic is the 6th nation of Central America and the Caribbean to have joined the Organisation. We celebrate with all those who have worked to contribute to this milestone. In 2020, ICGEB signed an Agreement with the University Iberoamericana UNIBE to conduct COVID-19 research. Together with the International Latin American Organization (IILA), ICGEB has worked with the Dominican Republic on projects to promote gender equality in STEM.
