Rwanda poised to become 68th ICGEB Member State

ICGEB is pleased to announce that on 3 April 2023, the Government of Rwanda acceded to the ICGEB Statutes.

The Government of Rwanda deposited its instrument of accession with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in April 2023. The Statutes will enter into force on 3 May 2023 in accordance with article 21 (2), when it will become the 68th Member State of the ICGEB.

The accession will be formally announced at the forthcoming session of the ICGEB Board of Governors in May 2023. Rwanda is the 23rd African nation to have joined the Organisation. Collaboration and discussions have been ongoing with Rwanda since 2020, when the country first expressed the intention to complete membership.
