CALL FOR APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED

The workshop will impart hands-on training on use of NMR spectroscopy for drug discovery and design in different settings, like in vitro and in-cell. It will also include theoretical and practical training on metabolomics of both human biofluids and plant extracts. The event will help the participants to take up independent project of characterization of new natural and synthetic inhibitors, and use of traditional medicinal formulation like from Ayurveda for drug development. Further, it will help attendees in the discovery of bio-markers for different disease conditions, prognosis and response to medication using NMR spectroscopy.

Topics

  • Fundamentals of multidimensional NMR spectroscopy
  • NMR of natural products and their structure determination
  • NMR of plants metabolites, traditional medicine cocktails (eg Ayurvedic formulations), Herbolomics
  • NMR of proteins and nucleic acids
  • Biomacromolecule and drug interactions: structure and dynamics
  • In-cell drug discovery
  • NMR based metabolomics of biofluids, tissues and bones for biomarker discovery

Participants

Participants must have previous experience of working in the areas of Metabolomics and drug discovery or NMR spectroscopy. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their area of research, possible use and dissipation of knowledge gained during the course as well as benefit to ICGEB Member States. Attendance is limited to 30 participants, of which 15 seats are reserved to Indian participants and 15 seats will be available for ICGEB Member State nationals residing outside of India.

Funding

No fee is charged to attend this event. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs. A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the workshop, is available for selected nationalsof ICGEB Member States. Indian applicants are requested, once submitted the application, to upload a statement explaining how you will contribute to Aatmanirbhar Bharat program from participation in this event.
