Abstract
Dr. Vargas-Caballero’s research focuses on understanding synaptic integration and plasticity, particularly how ion channel dysfunction contributes to disease. Her work addresses a critical challenge in neuroscience: bridging the gap between studies in cell lines or model organisms, or immature neurons and the complexities of adult human neural circuits. In this seminar, she will explore innovative approaches to elucidate the role of ion channel mutations in neural circuit function and plasticity, offering insights into their implications for studying neurological disorders.
