The main objective of the event is to provide a forum of discussion on current state of the art and development of biofuels, focusing on new approaches for production of biofuels also using enzymatic and microbial transformation of lignocellulose. The course is aimed at gathering and discussing ideas and information related to development of biotechnological tools for production of biofuels.

Topics

Current situation of production of biogas and bioethanol in industrialized and developing countries, Biotechnology and processing technology of biogas and bioethanol, Economic sustainability of biogas and bioethanol, Bioprospecting of enzymes and microorganisms transforming organic matter to biofuels alternative energies, Technological devices developed for biogas and bioethanol production.

Participants

Previous or current experience on biofuels at research or industrial level. Current involvement in R&D activities or studies related to the course topics. Interest and availability to give a short presentation and present a poster.

Funding

Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs. A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the course, are available to a selected number of ICGEB Member States nationals.
