he ICGEB Regional Research Centre in Taizhou, PR China has launched its official website in Chinese – and in English.
Under the Directorship of Dr. Yili (Nathan) Yang, who took up his appointment in late 2020, the ICGEB Regional Research Centre, located in China Medical City, Taizhou, China’s Leading Biopharmaceutical hub, “aims to become a centre of innovation, combining high-level scientific research with technology commercialisation, and world-class new drug development.”
A scientist from the NIH and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Yang was appointed following a world-wide competitive recruitment process and is working to establish an international, multidisciplinary team of scientists to conduct high-quality original research.
The RRC is located in the Taizhou Medical Hi-tech Zone, a rapidly growing and innovative health care and life science park located in one of the most developed areas of China. Initiated in 2005, the Chine Medical City CMC project is a national medical hi-tech zone and aims to develop China’s largest and most comprehensive bio-medical industry base.
Together with the China National Center for Biotechnology Development CNCBD, ICGEB’s long-term partner, and Affiilated Centre, the official unveiling ceremony of the ICGEB RRC took place at the 11th China Medical Expo on Saturday, 18 September 2020. The cooperation agreement for the ICGEB China Regional Research Centre was signed in January 2020.
