Better Polices for Better Lives. On 11 March 2021, ICGEB joined the OECD agencies supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The ICGEB has been included in the list of multilateral agencies of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Contributions to OECD listed agencies may be reported as Official Development Assistance (ODA); the key measure used in practically all aid targets and assessments of aid performance.
In support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the OECD advances key issues on development finance through data collection and reporting, establishing statistical measurement frameworks and analysis on a variety of development finance topics and actors. ICGEB’s inclusion in Annex II, as an ODA-eligible international organisation, marks the recognition of ICGEB as an important actor in the international development scenario.
OECD reviewed ICGEB’s mandate, its activities, and programme budget to find evidence that ICGEB’s work is directed to the benefit of economic development and welfare of developing countries through scientific research and cooperation.
ICGEB is looking forward to working further with OECD to increase its standards to promote science for development.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was established in 1961 to promote economic growth and world trade and is made up of 36 member states that are committed to the market economy and democracy.
