ICGEB will be a strong presence at the 2021 Bio Africa Digital Convention from 23-24 August this year. The goal of the Convention is the advancement of biotechnology development in Africa. This year’s theme is Advancing Africa’s Biomanufacturing Value Chains Through Innovation.
The Programme, with eight thematic tracks, offers insightful sessions and discussions on Healthcare, Finance & Investments & Market Access, Food Security/Agriculture, Indigenous Knowledge based Bio-Innovations, Internationalisation, Civil Society & Advocacy, Manufacturing, and Industrialisation as well as the 41R and Digital Economy.
ICGEB Director-General Dr. Lawrence Banks will participate in Day Two’s plenary on South-South Cooperation, highlighting the opportunities that ICGEB provides for African Science. Themes that ICGEB researchers from Cape Town, Trieste, and New Delhi will be bringing to the Convention include Biosimilars, Bioenergy, and Biopesticides. Concluding the Convention’s proceedings, Director-General Banks will be part of the closing dialogue with Global Biotech Leaders.
