The most important event in the Life Sciences sector at the national level, #MIT4ls2019 included a rich programme of conferences, workshops, brokerage events and pitching sessions: ICGEB was there.
Organised and run by the ICGEB Technology Transfer Office, our team were involved in the B2B events to promote ICGEB technologies and look for potential partners. The ICGEB’s presence included a permanent exhibit desk, a presentation of the Centre together with other research organisations of the FVG Region, and a workshop on Biosimilars and other technologies that are available at the ICGEB (also through the Biotechnology Development Unit).
The Workshop outlined the translation of research results into practical applications, demonstrating how biotechnology can offer practical solutions to major global challenges in the fields of health, agriculture and energy.
A second workshop, organised in the context of the Interreg project TRAIN led by the ICGEB Cardiovascular Biology Group was also held and well attended, presenting the results obtained so far in this project to improve diagnosis and therapy of various pathologies, such as myocardial infarction, difficult wounds and infectious/inflammatory diseases, and, to accelerate transfer from research to industry through the creation of ready-to-use kit and essays that will be made available to biotech companies to create new biopharmaceutical products.
