ICGEB was present at the GLOBAL BIO-INDIA 2023 Mega-exhibition, in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 4-6 December: the mega-event organised under the theme ‘Bio-innovation and Bio-manufacturing’, represented the Indian Biotech sector in a single forum.
A hub for seizing opportunities, GlobalBioIndia addressed challenges, and explored partnerships to foster inclusive growth and that have a transformative impact on lives, with both national and international stakeholders participating.
ICGEB New Delhi actively participated in this event with an ICGEB stand, that provided a platform for researchers to showcase their work and engage with the broader scientific community.
Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India, passed by the stand and, in his address, emphasised India’s Bioeconomy journey, with innovation as its cornerstone, aiming to secure a spot among the top five global Bioeconomy hubs.
ICGEB Panel discussions included “Powering the Future: Bio-based Energy Solutions”, an event moderated by Dr. Shams Yazdani, Group Leader of the Microbial Engineering Group providing insights from several national and international speakers. Among the contributors were Dr. Preeti Jain, Director of LanzaTech; Dr. Bhaskar Bhadra, Senior General Manager in R&D, Synthetic Biology Group at Reliance Industries Ltd., and Mr. Edwin Hamoen, Programme Manager of Nature-Based Materials at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research (WFBR) in The Netherlands.
Dr Dinesh Gupta, Group Leader Translational Bioinformatics participated in a round table discussion on Artificial Intelligence and drug delivery.
