Course “Genomics/Metagenomics and NGS approaches for discovering new enzymes useful for industrial applications”

Sfax, TunisiaPOSTPONED to 12 – 23 June 2022

The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED

The Course tailors to a much less-endowed area of NGS-based genomics and metagenomics as an alternative approach to conventional microbial enzymes screening. It opts to apply the functional metagenomic strategy to discover new potential genes and enzymes for some industrial applications. It will allow sharing the knowledge in metagenomics, NGS technology and sequencing data analysis.

Topics

Metagenomic bank, Functional metagenomics for enzyme discovering, Genomics and Metagenomics, Next generation sequencing, Sequence analysis and annotation.

Participants

Researchers and students involved in the fields of molecular microbiology and industrial enzymes as well as sequences determination (NGS) and analysis. Poster sessions will be also organized.

Funding

Participants are expected to cover their own travel costs. A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the workshop, are available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
