The workshop will cover cutting-edge genomic approaches to studying vector-borne pathogens. The workshop will focus on endemic and emerging vector-borne diseases in Sri Lanka and South Asia, and it will include both lectures on genomics and hands-on bioinformatics. There will be opportunities for poster presentations and networking with foreign experts.

Prospective postgraduate students, registered postgraduate students, and early-career researchers interested in vector-borne diseases are welcome to apply. The registration fee for participants from ICGEB Member States is €100, which includes two-star accommodation for five nights, meals, course materials, and a sightseeing tour to Sigiriya at the end of the workshop.
A limited number of grants covering registration fees, travel, and hospitality will be awarded to PhD candidates or early career researchers from South Asian ICGEB Member States nationals residing outside of Sri Lanka, who are studying vector-borne pathogens. Scholarship recipients will be required to do an oral presentation of their research at the workshop.
While applying, those requesting financial support to attend will need to provide, on top of the compulsory attachments required to complete the form, also the following documents:
- Reference Letter (a letter from your Principal supervisor confirming your student registration in the relevant institute and your research project title)
- Extended Abstract (maximum 3 pages), highlighting the significance of your research for South Asian region
- Benefit Letter (a letter explaining why you would benefit from financial assistance)
