Over two days, 18 top Researchers from both institutes explore common areas for collaboration.
To encourage burgeoning collaboration between the ICGEB and the Elettra Synchrotron, two of the major institutes that comprise the Trieste Science System, and both located within the AREA Science Park in Trieste, Italy, the 1st ICGEB – Elettra Syncrotrone symposium was held on 4-5 June 2020.
Held as a videoconference to enable greater participation, the Symposium follows seminars held by Lawrence Banks, ICGEB Director-General at Elettra, and Alfonso Franciosi, Elettra CEO, held at ICGEB, late last year.
Sessions on Molecular Biology, Structural Analysis, Imaging and micro-nano-scale Analysis followed the opening of the Symposium by Sergio Paoletti, AREA Science Park President, Lawrence Banks and Alfonso Franciosi. The Symposium enabled a broad range of exchange of information and best practices in scienctific research techniques, equipment and methodologies currently pursued in the respective areas of expertise.
