Dr Liz Njuguna awarded South Africa DSI NRF Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr Liz Njuguna, ICGEB Postdoctoral Fellow in the Cape Town ICGEB Biopesticides Group, has recently been awarded a South African Department of Science and Innovation / National Research Foundation Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship.

The project ‘Promoting Biopesticides: A Sustainable Pest Control Strategy for Climate Change Adaptation’ will commence in April 2021, for a duration of 2 years.

Dr Njuguna explains ‘The main aim of this research is to identify the regulatory and policy barriers to adoption of biopesticides in the sub-Saharan Africa and to propose appropriate interventions to promote the use of these products as a sustainable tool for climate change adaptation’.
