Participants will combine lectures, hands-on laboratory projects and critical discussion to develop strategies for engineering bacteria for biotechnological applications.
Topics
Synthetic biology tools for bacterial engineering; CRISPR-based genome editing and gene regulation; Modular genetic systems and biological part discovery; Microbial chassis selection and metabolic engineering; Applications in industrial, agricultural and environmental biotechnology.
Participants
Postgraduate students and early-career researchers in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, bioengineering or related fields. Applicants should have basic molecular biology and microbiology experience and submit a CV, motivation letter and brief description of their research interests. Regional and disciplinary diversity will be considered.
Fees
Full theoretical and practical course
– Participants from private companies: EUR 440
– Participants from academic institutions, including PhD students: EUR 200
