This Workshop aims at providing an opportunity for young scientists, especially from least developed countries in endemic areas, for advanced training on the related topics by leading scientists in the field, as well as to establish collaborations with fellow researchers.

Topics

  • Overview of Leishmaniasis and its epidemiology
  • Computer based analysis of the Leishmania Genome
  • The Sandfly vector and transmission
  • Virulence factors involved in infection
  • Recent advances in therapy and vaccine development

Registration

Participants

Participation is subject to selection.

Selection will be based on applicants’ CV and potential benefit for their career. Geographical and gender balance, as well as priority order in the registration, will also be considered.

Registration Fees

Selected participants will be notified and will need to finalise their registration with payment of the relevant registration fee.

Students: €150
Postdocs and Academics: €250
Industry: €500

The registration fee includes:

  • coffee breaks
  • lunches and a get-together on the first day
  • certificate of attendance

Cancellations

Cancellations must be notified to the Course Secretariat in writing no later than 1 October 2018 (midday Trieste time) and will be subject to a handling fee of Euro 50.

Abstract submission is reserved to selected participants
Unless you have received a formal notification confirming your attendance by the Organising Secretariat, do not submit your abstract

  • Abstracts should focus on unpublished material
  • Authorisation is requested for inclusion in the electronic Abstract Book to be distributed to all participants, together with personal contacts.

The course programme will include poster sessions and short oral presentations selected from the submitted abstracts.

All abstracts selected will be displayed as posters and thanks to the support from the FEBS Journal, the best posters will receive a prize.
