The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. The course aims at providing participants with tools of metabolic engineering/systems biology for designing bioprocesses for a biobased economy. These include topics on cellular metabolism, analytical techniques, bioinformatics, metabolic flux analysis, strain development and applications.

Participants
Researchers working on the field of metabolic engineering, metabolomics, genomics, proteomics, fluxomics. Both senior and junior scientists are welcome to attend as well as graduate and undergraduate students in related areas. Junior Scientists are encouraged to present their work in a poster session and to interact with senior scientists.
Funding
Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs. A limited number of grants (some including accommodation in shared rooms) are available for the duration of the course for a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States upon presentation of a poster.
