COMSTECH – ICGEB Scientific Cooperation Programme

ICGEB and COMSTECH are pleased to launch a pilot programme aimed at strengthening scientific collaboration within their respective constituencies.

The Joint Scientific Cooperation Programme includes the following three activities, for which scientists from eligible* Member countries may apply.

  • CRP Research Grants to support principal investigators and laboratories active in the COMSTECH Region. It is expected to support a minimum of 5 grants. Interested researchers from eligible* countries should apply to the current CRP Call open until 30 April 2022.
  • Visiting Scientists scheme. Experts from ICGEB Components and other research centres of excellence will spend a period of 1 week at an identified University and Research Centre in joint member countries within the framework of workshops tailored to specific research topics of interest.
  • Short-term Fellowships scheme dedicated to candidates from COMSTECH Region interested in undergoing a period of training and research at the ICGEB Components in Trieste, New Delhi and Cape Town and in other centres of excellence within the ICGEB Constituency, according to their areas of work – Communicable and Non-Communicable Disease, Medical Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology and Renewable Energy and Agricultural and Plant Biotechnology. Interested researchers from eligible countries should apply to the current ICGEB Short-term PhD Fellowships Call or SMART Fellowships Call by the deadline of 30 September 2022.
