The interest in tumor immunology is constantly expanding, driven by the success of  immunotherapy in the clinic. However, the complex interplay between oncogenic pathways in cancer cells and immune cell subsets with pro- and anti-tumoral properties is far from being understood and requires further investigation. This course is meant to cover the most significant open questions in the area,  including immunobiology of lymphomas, the role of immunity in cancer cell dormancy, the interaction between tumor stromal cells and immune cells and the immunogenicity of tumor neoantigens generated by genomic instability.  In parallel, experts in the latest methodology to study the immune microenvironment of tumors will present advances in genomics, flow cytometry, imaging and  analysis of tumor mechanical properties. Participants will have the opportunity to be exposed to the latest approaches and grasp conceptual and technical principles in this critical evolving field.

Topics

Molecular Biology of B cell lymphomas; Immune control of Cancer dormancy; Genomic instability and tumor neoantigens; T cells and myeloid cells in tumors, dissecting the immune compartment in tumors (transcriptional analysis, flow cytometry and spatial imaging); Mechano-immunobiology of solid tumors.
