The BIOTECHNET – Enhancing biotechnology know-how in the Horn of Africa project, supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), has currently three calls open for researchers from Djibouti and Ethiopia.
Fellowships calls
Under ICGEB Arturo Falaschi scheme, a dedicated channel will support applications for two short-term fellowships calls for collaborative research between PhD or postdoc scientists from Ethiopia and Djibouti and research groups at ICGEB laboratories in Trieste, Italy, New Delhi, India and Cape Town, South Africa, with the aim of facilitating access to the latest research techniques and to strengthen capacity building. The Arturo Falaschi Short-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship call is targeting applicants who hold a recent PhD in Life Sciences or have at least 3 years research experience for projects from 1 to 6 months, and the Arturo Falaschi Short-Term PhD Fellowship call for Pre-doctoral studies in ICGEB laboratories for 1 to 12 months (BSc with Honours degree or MSc degree is required). Meetings and Courses Call for Proposals
A call is open for the organisation of a scientific event to be held in Djibouti or Ethiopia in 2023. Candidates are invites to submit by September 30, 2022 proposals for events (workshop/course/ conference) aiming at providing theorical and/or practical events in Life Sciences particularly on topics of relevance to each country and ICGEB mandate. High profile conferences aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge and enhancing interaction between scientists, public and policy makers are particularly encouraged, as well as involvement of ICGEB PIs in the proposal.
