The ICGEB Biotechnology Development Unit (BDU) has launched a dedicated Web platform and video-based Technology Transfer training for a range of technologies, services, and protocols.
Increasing the availability of low-cost, high-quality biologics through transfer to partners in Member States is the aim of the BDU, established in 1995 in Trieste, Italy.
“Because access to medicine is a fundamental human right” states States Natasa Skoko, Head of the BDU, “we have developed strains, protocols and quality control testing for biosimilars. We provide a central facility for high-yield cell lines generation, upstream, downstream and quality control operations plus transfer of know-how to multiple recipients.”
