The Asia-Pacific Regional Expert Consultation on Agricultural Biotechnology held in Bangkok, Thailand last week was a great opportunity, says, Martina Viviani, ICGEB Head, Technology Transfer, Fundraising and Innovation.
APAARI, a voluntary, membership-based, self-mandated, apolitical and multi stakeholder partnership organisation in the Asia-Pacific region established in 1990, represents a great partnering opportunity to support research institutes in ICGEB Member States, increasing capacities in the fields they most require.
The opportunity to organise capacity enhancement programmes in the area on the topics of need was identified, as well as the benefits of membership in the ICGEB by those countries who have yet to complete the procedure to fully join the ICGEB constituency, in particular, Thailand and The Philippines.
