Meetings and Courses

The ICGEB Meetings and Courses Programme funds, organises and promotes participation in scientific meetings and theoretical and practical events in the Life Sciences in ICGEB Member States. The annual call invites proposals from laboratories or institutes to organise ICGEB events or to receive sponsorship for scientific meetings on topics of relevance to the ICGEB mandate. Nationals of Member States can apply for grants to attend meetings. See current meetings listed below.

ICGEB Alumni Meeting

ICGEB is organising its second Alumni Meet, which will be jointly hosted by all the three ICGEB Components (New Delhi, Trieste, and Cape Town) from November 27- 28, 2023 at the ICGEB, New Delhi Component.

Type of events

  • Meetings, to be held in the three ICGEB Components
  • Theoretical and/or Practical events, co-sponsored by local organising institutes
  • Seeds for Science supports small meetings aimed at building networks
  • Sponsorships provided to scientific events relevant to the ICGEB mandate in our Member States

Participants

  • Nationals of ICGEB Member States are eligible to apply for a limited number of grants to support registration fee and/or living costs during the meeting
  • International travel is not usually funded. Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain additional sources of support to cover their travel expenses
  • Refer to the ICGEB Meetings and Courses calendar for information, terms of participation, application forms and contact details for individual events

Organisers

  • Scientific institutions located in ICGEB Member States are eligible to organise ICGEB events and/or apply for an ICGEB Sponsorship
  • The deadline for applications is 28th February for events to be held in the following year
  • Refer to the annual Meetings and Courses Call for Proposals for information and guidelines

Thanks to a contribution of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) within the framework of the BIOTECHNET initiative (AID n. 12098), dedicated resources are available for candidates from Ethiopia and Djibouti interested in participating in one of the ICGEB events, covering registration fee and/or travel cost.
