Until very recent, many (including myself) believed that oxygenase domain of
NOS is just highly diverged form of P450 - e.g., see
[Degtyarenko, K.N. and Archakov, A.I. (1993)
FEBS Lett. 332, 1-8] for pairwise alignment of haem domains of
P450BM-3 and NOS. Now we can see that NOS is definitely not
a P450. However, it won't prevent me from publishing some more NOS news here in
the Directory of P450-containing Systems.
