The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. For more information on the terms of participation and funding opportunities for this event please access the meeting website or contact the local organisers directly.

This meeting is aimed for participants to gain theoretical and practical knowledge on genomic data of parasitic zoonoses, and share scientific experiences in the application of genetic markers in the fields of biomedical sciences. The meeting will focus on genomics of zoonotic parasites and the practical use of genomic data in diagnosis, epidemiology, phylogeny and evolution studies.

Topics

Mitochondrial and ribosomal genomics, molecular diagnosis, molecular epidemiology, molecular phylogeny, molecular evolution, bioinformatics in biomedical science.

Participants

Researchers working in the fields of molecular parasitology and biomedicine. Invited experienced lecturers in the molecular genomics of zoonotic parasites. Students and young researchers are also welcome to apply for participation.
The Course programme will include poster sessions and short oral presentations selected form the submitted abstracts.

Funding

Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs. A limited number of grants covering partial travel support, accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the Course are available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
