The ICGEB invites applications for the post of Administrative Officer, New Delhi Component
The incumbent will handle all matters involving the administrative and general service functions of the New Delhi Component. He/she reports directly to the Director of the Component on matters pertaining to its administration, including accounts, finance, procurement, funding, management of human resources and other relevant issues.
Candidates should possess at least a Masters degree in financial management and/or accounting, and a post-graduate qualification or MBA in a related discipline, with at least 10 years of proven relevant experience at the supervisory level in the area of financial management, with exposure to Human Resources management, and a sound knowledge of the requirements of the UN Common System relating to finance and HR issues. Some knowledge of, or exposure to, the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) would be a distinct advantage. Fluency in English is essential, knowledge of Hindi an asset.

Area of research: Computational analysis of protein-protein interactions and metabolic reconstruction of pathways
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is available in the DBT-ICGEB Centre for Advanced Bioenergy Research for a DST sponsored project titled “Comparative analysis of Cyanobacterial sp. And development of models to understand the process of nitrogen fixation”. The positions are available initially for two months with extensions up to two years.
Suitable candidate must have completed Masters in Computer Science/Physics/Mathematics/Bioinformatics or PG diploma in Bioinformatics with very sound programming skills shown in the form of completed project or paper.
Programming Skill required: Java/perl/python or any other scripting language and working knowledge of MySQL. Candidate should have some familiarity with R statistical package.
The salary will be as per the guidelines of DBT/DST, based on qualification and experience.

Professor / Reserach Associate Professor in Plant Molecular Genetics/Genomics at the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology
The successful candidate's research will focus on the molecular basis of the response(s) of plants to abiotic stress using multidisciplinary approaches that include molecular biology, biochemistry, functional genomics and transgenic technologies.
Minimum Qualification Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Genetics/genomics.
Preference will be given to applicants with strong research programs, demonstrated by a number of high quality publications in the area of plant genomics in relation to development of salt and drought tolerant plants.
Expected Skills/Rank/Experience Postdoctoral or professional research experience in fields is desirable. Candidates should have an established research program and an excellent record of scholarly activity with a research experience of at least 5 or 10 years. Researchers are expected to undertake major research projects, demonstrate a significant reputation for independent research, and provide academic leadership to those working in their own research areas. Also expected to support the management activity of the Center, and contribute to the delivery of research.
