Objectives

  •      Know-how and technology transfer
Researchers from the University of Oxford will transfer their know-how on using advanced cellular imaging techniques in biomedical research by leading oral presentations and practical hands-on sessions on microscopes existing in the host institute.
Researchers in Turkey will transfer their know-how on specific biomedical research projects by oral and poster presentations.

  •      Fostering collaborations between researchers
Following the transfer of know-how, the course aims at the establishment of collaborative projects between the course participants. This will be facilitated by daily meetings following the oral and practical sessions.

  •      Establishment of permanent support for early career researchers
The course aims at establishing a strong connection between early career researchers and senior researches. Participants will be trained both scientifically and socially, by creating a conducive atmosphere with special sessions to discuss career opportunities for young researchers.

Funding

  • No fee is charged to attend this course. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs.

  • A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the course, are available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
The available grants will be allocated in order of priority, according to the ranking achieved in the selection process.
