  • Genome and proteome databases

  • Similarity searching, alignments

  • Sequence phylogeny

  • Next-generation sequencing data analysis using open source software

  • High throughput methods, chip-sea, RNA-seq

  • Genome projects, functional genomics

Participants

  • Admittance to the course is subject to selection and is limited to 30 participants.

  • Applicants must have a basic working knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology, a basic familiarity with computer uses and a need for DNA or protein sequence analysis for their ongoing research.

  • Participants will need to have their own laptop with an internet browser installed to access the course Google Cloud infrastructure and remote high speed computing facility for sessions and practical exercises.

  • Preference will be given to Ph.D. students and junior scientists below the age of 35 years.
