Meetings and Courses - Statistics

Approximately 390 topical courses, workshops and scientific conferences and meetings organised by ICGEB since 1988 have provided excellent opportunities to the international scientific community for direct interaction with forerunners of internationally recognised science. According to the data made available by the organisers of about 345 of these events, over 11,000 scientists in the ICGEB network have been able to directly benefit from this programme.

Figures 1 and 2 show the well-established rates of success and popularity of the Centre's annual meetings and courses, which attest to attendance by almost 16,000 participants world-wide.

In the context of the 2011 Meetings and Courses Programme, 43 proposals have been received from 19 Member States to organise a meeting either at the ICGEB Trieste, New Delhi and Cape Town Components or in Member States, and the amount committed for these activities is in the region of Euro 500,500.
