The ICGEB aims at strengthening the research capability of its Members through a comprehensive training programme and approach to promoting biotechnology internationally. The active participation of ICGEB Member States nationals in the ICGEB Meetings and Courses is therefore highly encouraged. For more information on the terms of participation and funding opportunities for this event please access the meeting website or contact the local organisers directly.

This course seeks to impart knowledge of bioinformatics skills and applications, through practical cases, to carry out the analysis and interpretation of massive data generated through the new molecular technologies.

Topics

Programming languages and databases management, next generation sequencing technologies, sequence analysis, assembly and functional annotation, bioinformatics applications, gene networks and systems biology

Researchers involved in biological or agricultural sciences. Graduate students involved in research that require bioinformatics analysis of omics data. Preference will be given to participants from a national institution on the basis of the importance of the training to their daily work lives, with attention to geographical and gender balance. Participants have to bring their own laptop.

Funding

Participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs. There is no registration fee for this course. A limited number of grants to be used for accommodation, transport and meals for the duration of the course, will be available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
